Clearwater Communications expands SG team with 2 new hires

Events marketing agency Clearwater Communications has appointed Lesley Renton (pictured left) as general manager and director of marketing, reporting to Clearwater Communications managing director, Min Liu. She will be responsible for the business development of the agency's Singapore client base, accelerating revenue growth, overseeing operations and team, expanding integrated marketing services scope and strengthening the Clearwater Communications brand in the Singapore market.

Renton's appointment will spearhead the continued growth of Clearwater Communications in Singapore and the ongoing delivery of event experiences and integrated marketing campaigns for its client base. Prior to her new role, Renton held the roles of AVP marketing at Travelodge Hotels Asia, engagement director at marketing company Pico Art International, head of creative services at events management company FreemanXP Asia Pacific, marketing director at Black Sheep Marketing Consultancy, and director of marketing and sales at bar group Harry's Singapore, according to her LinkedIn.

She brings almost 30 years of experience in event management, experiential marketing, brand marketing and integrated marketing communications. She has created and executed corporate and public sector events and campaigns throughout Singapore, Asia, Middle East and Europe regions. Renton has also previously held roles at companies such as British American Tobacco, British record label EMI Records, media company WCRS, and FCB advertising agencies. Renton said she is looking forward to help the agency accelerate its growth, business development and recent business news in Singapore and Asia Pacific region.

Additionally, Clearwater Communications also hired Raymond Ng (pictured right) as its creative designer, in a bid to bolster its creative team. Ng joins the team with experience in multi-sector creative, design, event design and experience, and will be reporting to Renton. Ng was previously from fashion distributor F J Benjamin where he worked on brand portfolios incuding Raoul, Guess, Givenchy, and Bell & Ross. He also worked at event marketing agencies HYDL Inc and Orcavie in both Malaysia and Singapore, a spokesperson told Marketing. Ng said he is excited to be part of the Singapore team as he is passionate about creating events and elevating event experiences through creativity and design.

Liu said Renton's appointment will boost the agency's leadership team, drive growth, and nurture client relationships, while Ng will provide its growing client base with more creative and effective design solutions to build engagement and emotional connection. She added that with Ng's appointment bolstering its creative team, the agency will be able to take on more projects and pitches. According to Liu, Clearwater Communications will continue attracting new talent as well, in order to offer a wider range of event and experiential marketing services and solutions for its clients that "meet the evolving needs of the MICE market". The agency has worked with companies including GroupM, DHL, and Intercontinental Hotel Group.
