Cj Wow Shop on track to RM70 million sales target

Media Prima Television Network (MPTV) said its home shopping platform, Cj Wow Shop is on track to achieve its sales target of RM70 million by the end of 2016. Cj Wow Shop is MPTV’s innovative home shopping network integrating television, online and mobile platforms.

Since its launch – MPTV said- Malaysian shoppers have welcomed the immersive home shopping platform with an overwhelming response with close to RM20 million sales within its first 100 days.

The results is also reflected in Media Prima Berhad’s recent quarterly earnings in which it said- Cj Wow Shop contributed significantly to the increase of the group’s quarterly revenue, which rose 15% from the first quarter to its second quarter at RM 349.55 million

Datuk Kamal Khalid, chief executive officer of MPTV said, “The excellent performance validates CJ WOW SHOP’s proven model where we integrate television, online and mobile platforms to bring a unique shoppertainment experience straight to the consumer homes. It has been a great start for us and this milestone has strengthened our resolution to work harder towards becoming the leading customer-oriented media commerce company in Malaysia.”

Within a short six months of its operation, new products have been added to Cj Wow Shop featuring exclusive items from Korean’s home and living brands such as Coocan, Vo.temm and Ilo. It also brought in some local flavour into the mix, with home-grown brands including electrical household brand Elba, ceramic manufacturer Claytan and fashionwear Ariani and Jakel.

Kim Yang Hyun, chief executive officer of Cj Wow Shop added although the company is still in its early stages, it is already looking at expanding its offerings on multiple fronts.  It is primarily targeting to have more than 200 products by the end of 2016.

“In line with this, we will continue to build up our strengths to accommodate the increasing number of orders and improve shoppers’ experience in terms of customer service, fulfilment and product offerings,” he said.

In conjunction with Malaysia’s national day celebration, the home shopping network is offering some promotions during with CJ WOW Shop #MalaysiakuWOW points from 31st August to 16th September where shoppers will be rewarded with 10% points from product purchased of selected local brands. This 10% “Mata Ganjaran WOW” can be used for their next purchase and is valid for 1 month from the date of the first product purchase.
