Cisco has appointed Wilson Ching (pictured) as managing director, general manager of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, to lead Cisco’s business across the Greater Bay Area (GBA), effective immediately.
The GBA is a dynamic economic region in southern China that includes Hong Kong and Macao, and nine cities in Guangdong Province, serving as a major hub for innovation, technology, and international business in Asia.
In this role, Ching will lead the GBA team to work closely with ecosystem partners across the region and beyond to drive sustainable growth and deliver business outcomes for customers. He reports to Ming Wong, vice president and chief executive officer, Cisco Greater China.
He brings extensive leadership experience across Cisco’s business in Greater China, with a strong track record of working closely with customers and teams to support adoption, lifecycle management, and long-term value realisation across the technology lifecycle. Ching will focus on strengthening how Cisco supports customers across the GBA in building secure, resilient and AI-ready digital infrastructure, while deepening the company’s role in helping enterprises leverage the region as a base to expand internationally.
This includes translating Cisco’s technology portfolio, partner ecosystem and regional expertise into practical outcomes as customers modernise operations, adopt AI at scale, and grow beyond their home markets.
The announcement follows the decision by Iris Feng to step down from her role as the Cisco GBA leader. During the interim period, Ching will also continue to serve as the acting sales leader for Cisco’s Greater China software and services business.
“Over the past few years, the Greater Bay Area has rapidly established itself as a leading hub for innovation and digital transformation, especially as artificial intelligence becomes a key driver of business success and competitiveness,” said Ming Wong, vice president and chief executive officer, Cisco Greater China.
“I would like to thank Feng for her leadership in laying a strong foundation for Cisco’s presence in the region. Looking ahead, I am confident that under Ching's leadership, we will accelerate our AI strategy and deepen our collaboration with customers and partners, helping to unlock new opportunities, advance sustainable growth, and position the GBA at the forefront of the AI-driven economy.”
“I am honoured and energised to lead Cisco’s team in the Greater Bay Area at such a pivotal time,” said Ching. “The region is brimming with opportunities as organisations embrace AI-powered solutions to accelerate their digital transformation and expand their global reach. Together with our talented team and partners, I look forward to building on our strong foundation, helping customers unlock new value, and taking our business to new heights in the AI era.”
