CIMB has launched a film for Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day, offering an authentic voice on what it means to be truly Malaysian. Titled "Bersama Melakar Kemenangan", the video also shows the importance of unity and the spirit of continuously fighting for what is best for oneself and the nation.
Told through the eyes of CIMB ambassador and Olympian Azizulhasni Awang, the film draws parallels between the personal struggles of Azizulhasni and the ordinary Malaysian. It recounts the challenges he faced from a young age as an aspiring cyclist, right up to the moment he becomes World Champion. Done in collaboration with M&C Saatchi Malaysia, the video now has over one million views on Facebook, as well as 6.6k reactions, 393 comments and 380 shares.
CIMB's group CMO Mohamed Adam Wee Abdullah said the bank wanted to remind Malaysians about the strength of unity. "To reignite the spirit of our nation, that there is no success without struggle and no breakthrough without adversity," he added.
Meanwhile, Darren Lee, group creative director at M&C Saatchi, said the team is extremely pleased to have been allowed the opportunity to collaborate with Azizulhasni on behalf of CIMB. "Viewers can expect a film that is not just a visual spectacle, but one that also showcases the progressive spirit of CIMB," he added.
