Chinese brand consultancy Labbrand has appointed Jessalynn Chen as managing director, Singapore. In her new role, Chen will be tasked to lead and develop the regional Labbrand office. She will also be responsible for management of client relationships and project accounts. Chen will report to Vladimir Djurovic, CEO of Labbrand Group.

Chen was most recently business director of Asia at brand strategy and design company Brandient, and has left after one year, according to her LinkedIn. Prior to her time with Brandient, Chen was with branding agency FITCH for 13 years. Joining as a business development executive in 2006, Chen held multiple roles such as business development manager, senior business development manager, associate client director, associate director for business development, client director, and eventually business director- a role she took on in 2019. Chen was also previously with BBC as assistant to manager for travel distribution for APAC, where she was tasked to liaise with international travel authorities and hoteliers for travel, hotels and airports trade information.

In regards to the ambition of Labbrand Singapore moving forward, Djurovic said it wants to be the partner of choice for Asian companies and multinationals that wants to further expand in the region. "Our strategies and solutions are rooted in consumer insights and integrate the global perspective with a deep understanding and awareness of diverse cultures and consumer behaviors in Asia," he said, adding that the agency's branding approach is formed by brand innovations, digital experience development, and cultural transformation.

Labbrand launched its office in Singapore in December 2016, in a bid to strengthen its foothold in the Asia Pacific region. The consultancy said then that it plans to open 10 to 15 more offices globally in the next decade. Some clients the consultancy has worked with include Airbnb, Disney, Sephora, Volkswagen, Marriott, LinkedIn, and the Coca-Cola Company.
