Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT), part of the heritage conservation project of The Mills, and the former cotton spinning mills of Nan Fung Textiles in Tsuen Wan, has appointed Sutton’s Hong Kong branch as its communications agency. Sutton will handle all media responsibilities in the lead up to and during the grand opening of CHAT in March 2019.CHAT is one of the largest privately-initiated heritage conservation projects in Hong Kong, encompassing contemporary art, design, science and heritage. CHAT aims to celebrate Hong Kong’s textiles history while allowing the opportunity to explore, learn from and adapt Hong Kong’s historical entrepreneurial spirit.CHAT’s appointment of Sutton is down to the agency’s reputation as leaders in supporting and promoting the best arts and cultural projects in Hong Kong, as well as their proven track record in launching major new cultural institutions across Asia, such as Indonesia’s first contemporary art museum, Museum MACAN, their ongoing work with Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District and M+, and their launch of Design Society in Shekou Shenzhen, the first museum dedicated to design in China.Vice president and managing director of Sutton, Catherine McClelland said, “Sutton are honoured to be working with CHAT on their grand opening, a centre which promises to be a truly dynamic addition to Hong Kong’s expanding arts and cultural scene. Their strong, multidisciplinary programming is at once rooted in Hong Kong’s heritage and local community, while attracting a new culturally interested generation and the wider international art crowd.”
