Changi Airport Group settles SG$16 million media pitch

Following its massive win of the Singtel media buying business, Havas Media has bagged another major local account with the Changi Airport Group business.

CAG appointed Havas Media its media buying duties which is reported to be SG$16 million for a period of two years. The new contract with Havas is slated to run for two years with an option to extend for another two.

The new contract will run from 1 July 2015 onwards. The pitch for the account was held in March 2015 and the process was internally managed. The incumbent agency on the business is ZenithOptimedia, which did not pitch for the account. The contract with ZenithOptimedia is set to conclude in June this year.

" The competition was stiff and the decision was not easy for us to take. We thank all the agencies who participated in the pitch. We appreciate the effort they put in. We look forward to our partnership with Havas Media to drive our brand and marketing programmes especially in the digital space," said Ivan Tan, senior vice president, corporate & marketing communications.

"We're absolutely delighted to be appointed by Changi Airport Group. This win is testimony that our corporate 'Digital-At-The-Core' approach to media is gaining strong traction amongst today's most progressive clients. This approach ensures we always harness the convergence of display, social, content and design and tech to create powerful marketing. The Changi Airport brand, to us, has the credibility and ability to pursue such solutions, which makes it extremely gratifying for any agency to work on this brand," said Melvin Lim, CEO of Havas Media.

Meanwhile, CAG has also extended its relationship with JWT Singapore and the agency will continue to handle CAG’s creative account until March 2016 next year. The agency was first appointed in February 2013.
