CEO of QSR Brands’ restaurant division Merrill Pereyra exits

Merrill Pereyra (pictured) has left his role as CEO – restaurants division, QSR Brands, after more than two years in the position, according to his LinkedIn. A+M understands that a replacement has yet to be named. A+M has reached out to QSR for comment.He took on the role of CEO in January 2017, less than a year after he joined the company in June 2016 as chief operating officer. According to his LinkedIn, he was responsible for providing operational and strategic leadership and vision to the overall business to ensure relevant strategies are developed and prioritised to drive long-term profitable growth and shareholder value.Before that, he was the CEO of Domino’s Pizza Indonesia for about three years, and was responsible for turning around the business to a profitable model that could be scaled. This included market expansion and store growth from 42 stores in 2013 to 80 stores at the end of 2015, he said on LinkedIn. He also worked at Australian sandwich bar Healthy Habits and McDonald’s.QSR operates Pizza Hut and KFC restaurants in Malaysia and Singapore. Last month, Pizza Hut tied up with Mutiara Johor Corporation and Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor Bahru to launch “The Caring Home” at Tunku Laksamana Johor Haematology Ward. This was part of its CSR initiative known as “Hut to Heart” that champions a cancer-free life.The company also signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin to launch the poultry industry’s first-ever 2u2i academic programme in Bachelor of Animal Health and Production. This is in support of flexible education as envisioned by Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 in producing holistic, entrepreneurial and balanced graduates.
