Casio taps ONE OK ROCK for cherry blossom-infused G-SHOCK

Casio Indonesia has unveiled a G-SHOCK timepiece to mark the 20th anniversary of Japanese rock juggernaut ONE OK ROCK. The collaboration fuses refined design cues with rock attitude - making it a collector’s piece for both fans of the band and those in the know.
At the heart of the collaboration is the GM-2100, the octagonal metal icon catering for design-forward watch fans. Here, it’s reimagined under the direct supervision of ONE OK ROCK bassist Ryota, whose creative fingerprints are all over the piece - from the cherry blossom dial gradation to the katana-inspired indicator hand. Even his personal tattoo makes an appearance, subtly engraved on the band loop.
The visual storytelling runs deep. “The design captures the elegance and tradition of Japanese culture,” Casio stated, highlighting the subtle sakura bloom scattered across the dial. Roman numerals, an unexpected twist in G-SHOCK’s typically utilitarian aesthetic, nod to classical watchmaking - but in a distinctly rock-ready package.

Swedish artist Emil, a longtime friend of the band, was brought in to design the packaging and the case back logo, adding another layer of authenticity to the collaboration. Emil’s artwork is also found on the special-edition packaging, lending a tactile narrative to the visual identity of the piece.
The band itself, now entering its third decade, has grown far beyond its Japanese roots. ONE OK ROCK has shared global stages with the likes of Ed Sheeran and MUSE, toured extensively in the US, Europe, and Asia, and is gearing up for a massive anniversary year. Their new album DETOX lands in February, followed by an ambitious tour circuit that spans South America, North America, and Japan.
This collaboration watch, much like the band it honours, doesn’t play by the rules. With its translucent matte white strap, silvery bezel, and black dial, it’s equal parts rebel and refined - a balance that speaks to the band’s evolution and staying power.
This isn’t Casio’s first foray into music collaborations - in 2023, the brand named K-pop girl group ITZY as global ambassadors for its G-SHOCK line, tapping into their massive following and youthful energy to expand appeal among younger women.
