The pay-TV industry's peak representative body has formalised a new mission to reflect the rapidly evolving pay-TV landscape across Asia. With digital content and platforms becoming pervasive throughout the industry, CASBAA is looking to reshape the association to reflect these changes. As part of the overhaul, the Cable & Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia will be known simply as CASBAA, with a refreshed logo, a refashioned tagline and a new mission statement.Simon Twiston Davies, CEO of CASBAA, said the pay-TV business is changing, and its representative body needs to reflect this."We believe our new look and new mission statement are a strong response to a revolutionized multichannel TV and video content industry," he said."Video-on-demand in all its forms (anywhere, anytime, anyhow) supported by linear services is part of our industry's every day life. CASBAA needs to reflect these new realities."However, he said CASBAA's core mission remains to promote the growth of pay-TV and video content in all its forms through shared information, networking opportunities and targeted events while promoting global best practices.Over the next year CASBAA has lined up a range of initiatives and industry events to extend its effectiveness in the fastest growing pay-TV markets: China, Korea, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore."The essence of CASBAA is reflected through the tagline Inform ∙ Represent ∙ Connect. The colour, the energy and the vibrancy of the new brand symbolizes a new milestone achieved by the Association in the multi-channel TV industry," Twiston Davies added.
