CARSOME has officially handed over 15 vehicles to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), reinforcing its role as the official automotive partner while supporting the national teams’ transport and operational needs.

The vehicle fleet includes a mix of models such as the Proton X90, Proton X70, Mazda CX-5, Nissan Serena, BMW 3 Series, Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Toyota Alphard. These cars will be used by both the men’s and women’s national squads, as well as FAM’s management, ensuring smooth and reliable mobility throughout the football season.

The handover took place at CARSOME Automall and coincided with the launch of CARSOME Autofair 2025, a four-day event running from 22 to 25 May. The fair includes car deals, community activities, and fan experiences designed to engage local football supporters.

In attendance were FAM president Mohd Joehari Mohd Ayub, director general of the national sports council Jefri Ngadirin, and national football legend Zainal Abidin Hassan. Their presence highlighted a united front in supporting the growth of Malaysian football.

Speaking at the event, CARSOME Group co-founder and CEO Eric Cheng emphasised the brand’s commitment to supporting national players beyond the pitch.

Through CARSOME Academy, the company is working with FAM to offer career development and education pathways in the automotive sector, key industry that contributes RM82 billion to Malaysia’s GDP and supports over 700,000 jobs, according to CARSOME's statement.

“We want to help players prepare for life beyond the game. Through CARSOME Academy, we are exploring relevant courses and support that can open up long-term opportunities for both male and female players," said Cheng.

FAM president Mohd Joehari added that the partnership had already seen an encouraging start, with the official collaboration beginning on the same day Malaysia secured a win over Nepal in the opening match of the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

“We’re grateful to have a trusted partner like CARSOME. This partnership has momentum, and we hope it continues to bring success to Malaysian football," Mohd Joehari said.

As part of Autofair 2025, fans will be able to meet national players during a special session on 24 May (tomorrow). Visitors who book cars during the event stand a chance to win prizes including signed national team jerseys, match tickets for the upcoming Malaysia vs Vietnam game on 10 June, car tint and wrap vouchers, and limited edition CARkey Bola jerseys.

Earlier in March, CARSOME announced that it became the official automotive partner of FAM, under a two-year partnership worth almost RM2 million. This partnership with CARSOME aims to enhance FAM’s efforts in strengthening both the men’s and women’s national football teams as they prepare for the season.

It also supports FAM’s efforts to elevate the sport’s regional presence by ensuring the national teams have the resources they need to compete at their best. For CARSOME, this collaboration is part of its efforts to nurture local talent and contribute to the broader development of Malaysian sports.

These events come on the back of CARSOME's recent appointment of Lynn Dhia as its new regional head of marketing. Prior to this role, Dhia was the lead, corporate communications and employer branding at Averis, for nearly three years. From 2019, she was also was the marcomm and digital lead at F&N Holdings.
