Carousell has appointed Archetype Hong Kong as its retainer PR agency to strengthen the brand’s position in the Hong Kong market.

Under this partnership, Archetype Hong Kong will help Carousell increase its market share, generate positive awareness, and grow its brand equity in the city.

“The (Archetype Hong Kong) team has impressed us with their insightful strategic counsel and their media network,” said William Ip, managing director of Carousell Hong Kong.

“Their understanding of local and regional media has meant that in the short time we’ve worked with them, we have significantly raised Carousell’s brand awareness. This is crucial as we set our sights on continued growth within the region.”

Archetype Hong Kong will be tasked with creating an innovative and effective communications campaign that will help Carousell retain its position as a market leader.

Rosemary Merz, managing director of Archetype, said: “The eCommerce sector is growing exponentially, driving increased competition for consumer attention and spend. It speaks to our expertise in understanding how to build brands and shape reputations.”

Carousell now has more than 24 million listings in Hong Kong with a diverse range of products, including furniture, gadgets, fashion, and accessories. Recently, it added the big-ticket categories of cars and property to its offerings.
