Carlsberg has appointed Flok as the digital agency following a closed door pitch in December.Marketing understands there were five agencies vying for the account before being filtered down to two. This is the first time the brand has appointed a digital agency and the move comes hand in hand with Carlsberg's increased activity over the social media space. With social media currently being the primary digital communications channel for the Carlsberg, Flok will be tasked to provide all digital services in the arena. The partnership will also see Flok bringing its domain expertise to widen Carlsberg's digital strategy for Singapore. In 2012 Flok helped rolled out the social activation of Euro 2012 campaigns for Carlsberg in Singapore. Going forward, the agency is looking to leverage this football experience with Carlsberg securing rights to the Barclays Premier League. Earlier this year, Carlsberg also moved its local PR account from Sixth Sense Communications & PR Consultancy to GolinHarris. In November last year, Carlsberg also called a creative pitch involving five agencies including the incumbent Havas Worldwide. The pitch, which is not settled yet, is for the Carlsberg brand in Malaysia and Singapore.
