Bus booking platform redBus in Indonesia has appointed M&C Saatchi Indonesia to handle integrated communication duties following a multi-agency pitch. The scope includes above-the-line, below-the-line, digital advertising and content. According to a press release, redBus seeks to digitising the bus ticketing experience, especially in Indonesia where commuters are still physically buying tickets at brick and mortar counters at bus terminals. M&C Saatchi Indonesia will be working to communicate redBus as a solution for bus travellers "in a culturally relevant but cool way" and make a connection with Indonesians at large, said Dami Sidharta, co-founder and ECD, M&C Saatchi Indonesia. Adding on, Anish Daryani, founder and president director, M&C Saatchi Indonesia said that the work will allow the agency to proactively use communication to shape culture for the betterment of society. He said, "When we received the pitch brief for redBus, our team, many of them inter-city bus commuters themselves, were excited about how bus travel would change forever in Indonesia with the convenience that redBus offers to users. We were able to translate this excitement to great ideation and execution, which perhaps has set us up for a long ride with redBus.” Currently, the bus booking platform has operations in India, Malaysia, Singapore, Peru, Colombia, and Indonesia. Part of Ibibo group, which is now held by Make My Trip Group, redBus booking platform offers ease and convenience of booking long and short haul bus tickets from mobile and desktop.
