Burson-Marsteller promotes for key China and Asia roles

Daisy King has been named president of Burson-Marsteller China, taking over the role from Matthew Stafford, who steps down as Greater China CEO for a senior role with Australian prime minister Tony Abbott.

King, who has been with Burson-Marsteller for 14 years, has served as Beijing market leader and will now expand her leadership to oversee all mainland China offices, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shenzhen.

She also leads the firm’s US-China Specialty Group, which has generated extensive new trans-Pacific business since its launch in 2011.

Additionally, the WPP firm has promoted Margaret Key to the role of COO for its Asia operation. Key, who joined Burson-Marsteller in 2010 as Korea market leader, will relocate to Hong Kong for the new role and serve as interim market leader in Hong Kong until a permanent successor is selected.

Both appointments will be effective 1 March, reporting into worldwide vice chairman and Asia Pacific regional chair, Patrick Ford.
