Bursa Malaysia targets retail investors with new mobile app

Bursa Malaysia has unveiled a new mobile app named Bursa Anywhere to allow individual investors to access a wide range of central depository services (CDS) anywhere, anytime. According to Bursa, its mobile app depository service is the first in ASEAN and second in Asia after Taiwan.The new app is in line with Bursa Malaysia's proposition that it is easily accessible, convenient and efficient, offering depositors with a seamless and personalised experience when accessing their CDS account information or performing CDS account management. This initiative is also in line with Bursa Malaysia’s aspiration to promote better sustainability practices through digitisation and further encourages the industry to embrace digital transformation as a whole.Investors on Bursa Malaysia can now use Bursa Anywhere to access and download statement of accounts, view balance shareholdings and receive notifications in relation to their shareholdings, among others.Bursa Malaysia CEO Muhamad Umar Swift (pictured left) said in line with its tagline "Creating opportunities, growing value", it is committed to providing solutions that can further connect and help create an impact in the marketplace."Bursa Anywhere will become the one place for retail investors to go and manage all things to their CDS accounts.
