Brands jump on retail spaces at Jewel Changi Airport, 90% snapped up

Jewel Changi’s retail offering seems to be a hit with brands as the venue says that out of its 280 shops and eateries, 90% has been snapped up. Out of this approximately 60% are new-to-Changi brands, and over 30% are F&B operators. Several of these brands are first-in-Singapore brands include the famous Shake Shack, Pokémon and Swiss chocolatier Läderach. A&W will also be making its comeback in Singapore.

The line-up of retail offerings also include homegrown brands such as Tiger Beer, Naiise and Supermama, which will be introducing first-of-its-kind concepts for their stores in Jewel. In fact, Tiger Beer is set to launch its first concept store, called The Tiger Street Lab, that will provide a F&B experience, looking to “intersperse” with retail elements. While, Naiise aims to introduce in-store activities and a café concept as it looks to turn a retail shop into a lifestyle experience. On the other hand, local gallery store Supermama, will carry a customised range of porcelain designs, inspired by and produced for Jewel.

Jewel Changi Airport has also posted a video on its Facebook page, introducing its retail partners.

Hung Jean, chief executive officer of Jewel Changi Airport, said that it curated tenant mix to position the space where local brands are “exposed” to an international audience. She also added that it wanted to bring new and familiar global brands to Singapore at the same time.

“Travellers today have grown more discerning about their destinations and their choice of airports to stopover. With this in mind, we hope to create a one-of-its kind, multi-dimensional destination at Changi Airport to fulfill these travellers’ needs. We firmly believe that Jewel’s unique retail proposition will enhance the overall Changi Experience for the millions of travellers who pass through Changi Airport and attract more visitors to Singapore,” Hung said.

“Most importantly, this journey of curating a unique retail experience in Jewel would not be possible without the strong support of our tenants, many of whom are committed to delivering special concepts for Jewel. We deeply appreciate their shared vision on this journey with us and enthusiasm in collaborating and co-creating imaginative retail and service concepts in Jewel,” she added.
