BOCHK highlights RMB strengths with website revamp and brand campaign

Bank of China (Hong Kong) (BOCHK) has unveiled a new branding campaign to reinforce its position as the leading provider of RMB services. This initiative showcases BOCHK's profound experience in RMB business, professional RMB wealth management, comprehensive cross-boundary financial solutions, and innovative integrated payment options.

Running from March 2025, the new campaign features four striking new key visuals with a fresh and visionary aesthetic, each highlighting one of BOCHK's core RMB strengths.

Beyond impactful outdoor advertising dominating high-traffic locations such as the Cross Harbour Tunnel entrance (Hong Kong Island), billboards, and POWs across the city, the campaign leverages a multi-channel approach encompassing online, social media, and offline promotions.

As part of the campaign, BOCHK also revamped its website dedicated to personal RMB services to provide detailed information and resources.

To further demonstrate its RMB expertise and thought leadership, BOCHK recently hosted its inaugural "RMB Internationalisation and Financial Services Forum" on 18 February 2025. Government officials, business association leaders, and BOCHK experts discussed the future of RMB internationalisation and its role in fostering economic cooperation and financial innovation.

Adding to the momentum, BOCHK has launched the "Fortune 8 RMB Rewards" promotion, offering exclusive benefits across eight RMB product categories, from insurance and stocks to funds, deposits, foreign exchange, credit cards, debit cards, and pledged loans.

In 2003, the People’s Bank of China appointed BOCHK as the sole clearing bank for RMB business in Hong Kong, reinforcing its key position in the region’s financial infrastructure, said BOCHK. "Our professional RMB wealth management services, backed by dedicated specialists, offer a comprehensive range of products, including deposits, foreign exchange, insurance and investment funds. These bespoke solutions optimise financial growth, empowering individuals to achieve their aspirations with confidence. In today’s interconnected world, our cross-border financial services seamlessly connect the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong."

"From Cross-boundary Wealth Management Connect to remote mainland account opening, we facilitate smooth, efficient interactions tailored to diverse needs. At the heart of this seamless integration lies our commitment to innovation. By integrating digital platforms such as BoC Pay+ and e-CNY with traditional banking, we also provide a sophisticated, accessible experience to meet the demands of an ever-evolving market."

Most recently, BOCHK launched BoC Pay+, an upgraded mobile app to enhance digital payment experience for consumers.

Primarily designed for users in Hong Kong, the upgraded app supports various payment methods such as FPS, UnionPay QR code, Weixin Pay, e-CNY, and Prompt Pay. It allows users to manage multiple credit cards efficiently while earning points and redeeming rewards. The app focuses on local and cross-border transactions, offering a streamlined platform for payments, credit card services, and rewards.

To promote the new features of BoC Pay+, BOCHK has partnered with creative agency Stunz Creative and PR agency The Bridge Agency to launch a campaign featuring the bank’s ambassador, local pop singer Chantel Yiu. The campaign includes a video in which Yiu voices BoC Pay+'s mascot, "Pay Buddy."
