Big Tree lets kindness bloom for World Mental Health Day

Big Tree is turning its digital out-of-home (DOOH) network into a platform for Malaysians to share messages of hope, with a new campaign that grows a digital garden one message at a time.
Called “Santuari kita” (‘Our sanctuary’), the campaign runs from 10 October to 8 November in support of World Mental Health Day. It sits under “Ruang rehat” (‘Room of rest’), Media Prima’s mental wellbeing initiative.
The public can submit original messages of encouragement at ruangrehat.my, and each submission causes a flower to bloom in an interactive digital garden.

Selected messages will also appear in the garden through interactive butterflies carrying messages of hope. When the campaign ends, the top 12 winning messages will be shown across Big Tree’s DOOH screens, bringing them into commuters’ everyday journeys.
The top three winners will receive prizes worth up to RM5,000, including a water villa stay and spa packages. Nine consolation winners will receive cash vouchers.

“At Big Tree, we are continuously exploring how out-of-home can create value beyond advertising,” said Muhamad Fariz Mustafa, chief operating officer of Big Tree Outdoor.
He added that the campaign transforms the company’s digital network into a platform for community participation, where messages of hope and encouragement become reminders that inspire Malaysians in their everyday journeys.
In additiona, Big Tree said the campaign is meant to move people beyond awareness and into creating a supportive community through positive words and shared experiences. By combining digital participation with its DOOH network, it said the campaign shows how technology, creativity and public spaces can be used to foster conversations around mental wellbeing.
The campaign builds on Big Tree’s earlier work in this area. In 2023, it launched “Apa Khabar?”, a CSR campaign in support of mental health awareness. The public submitted messages and photos of themselves, and 12 winners were featured on its DOOH screens across the Klang Valley, including at KL Sentral, the Kelana Jaya LRT station and the KL Monorail.
