Marketing to children or toddlers (read marketing to parents) is a lucrative business. Over the years, more and more brands have shifted their attention to catering to this young group of consumers because parents are not only willing to pay big bucks for their lil tots but they have some of the biggest spending power.

According to the Marketing to Mom Coalition, an independent organisation dedicated to supporting and promoting an understanding of mothers as the most powerful consumer group in the US, American moms represent about US$2 trillion worth of buying power for US brands. And that’s just mothers alone.
