Hong Kong-based virtual general insurance provider Avo Insurance has rolled out a multi-faceted campaign to celebrate its first anniversary, in addition to expanding its product offering.

To mark the birthday, Avo Insurance has launched an OOH ad on the exterior of a tram featuring its mascot Cado, inviting Hongkongers to take pictures of the tram until 15 November. The tram is also part of a Facebook game which offers prizes to three winners.

In November, Avo Insurance will also release a series of short comics and animated videos on Facebook featuring Cado and his friends, created in partnership with Hong Kong illustrators DinDong, Mandycat and Tony Electronic. Designed to educate the public about the importance of staying insured while promoting Avo Insurance's affordable insurance solutions, the comic series and videos will also have its own collection of WhatsApp stickers available to download for free.

“We are excited to celebrate the first anniversary, having created a simple and straightforward digital insurance experience for everyone," said Winnie Wong, executive director and CEO of Avo Insurance.

"In the coming year, we will continue to adapt to unprecedented circumstances and introduce protection that meets the ever-changing needs of consumers. We invite everyone to join our celebratory events in November," she added.

On the product side, Avo Insurance has expanded its current eWallet protection to physical Octopus Cards. The current eWallet protection covers everyday risks that lead to eWallet theft, such as unauthorised credit card spending and money lost to fraudulent transactions.
