UK eCommerce retailer The Hut Group (THG) has inked a new partnership with mobile payments app Atome, allowing customers to buy and pay later across its websites including Lookfantastic and Myprotein. According to John Gallemore, CEO of THG Ingenuity, the regional partnership in Asia allows THG to expand the payment options, ultimately offering greater consumer choice, flexibility and access to its brands in Asia. The partnership is now live across THG’s websites in Hong Kong and Singapore and will be expanding to Malaysia and other Asian markets later this year.

The addition of THG adds to Atome's growing portfolio of brand partners. Currently, Atome has over 10,000 online and offline retailers in 10 markets, including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Taiwan, mainland China and Japan. Consumers can pay with Atome by spliting their bills and spread payments over three zero-interest deferred payments.

"THG’s portfolio includes some of the most exciting beauty and nutrition brands that are very well followed in Asia. This partnership will provide greater flexibility and choice to how their customers in Asia choose to shop and pay, enhancing their buying and shopping experience," said David Chen, CEO of Atome.

Prior to the latest partnership, Atome has formed another partnership with foodpanda Hong Kong, introducing Atome’s "buy now pay later" feature on foodpanda's platform. Starting from 14 March, foodpanda Hong Kong's customers can split purchases into three zero-interest deferred payments upon checkout.

To use this feature, users can download the Atome app and register before selecting Atome as the checkout payment option. Foodpanda Hong Kong said the integration of Atome as an available payment solution for customers unleashes the new potential for “quick commerce” in Hong Kong, as customers can enjoy quicker services and later payments with both foodpanda Hong Kong’s services and delivery in as fast as 10 minutes. They can also enjoy Atome’s interest-free deferred spending for their food and grocery orders.
