Astro Publications goes digital

Astro Publications has released the digital formats for six of its magazine titles: Style, Car, InTrend, FHM, Men's Uno, and ifeel. Along with the debut, the publisher has also changed its name to Astro Digital Publications (ADPUB)."The launch of these six digital publications marks a key milestone for our publication arm as the first fully digital publisher of Malaysia," said chief operating officer of Astro, Henry Tan.The intent behind shifting to digital formats is to "transform the way readers experience their magazines," said Sree Pathmanathan, chief operating officer of ADPUB. "We want to bring print to life. The digital versions will offer interactive content with videos and current information through updates every other day."Astro Digital Publications hopes to provide advertisers with interactive campaigns versus traditional advertorials."Advertisers are no longer limited to advertorials in print magazines, but can benefit from a holistic yet innovative approach to their campaigns through interactive magazines, websites, social media, activation, and e-commerce opportunities," said Tan.The digital formats is aimed to see 3.6 million subscribers, with a 60% conversion rate from Astro households.The digital magazines are currently only available on iOS, with Android said to be available in May 2014.Five of Astro's e-magazines will be available for free to Astro customers starting 10 February. Non-Astro subscribers can download the e-magazines at USD $0.99 per title per issue. FHM, the English men's lifestyle magazine, will be at USD $0.99 per issue.
