Aston Martin drives its way into Malaysia

Aston Martin has arrived in Malaysia, opening its first showroom in the country in Petaling Jaya, in line with its expansion in Asia.

The 480 square meter showroom costs over RM8 million and offers full service capabilities for its growing line-up of sports car.

Muzamil Mahmud, brand manager of Jelita Seleksi (official franchise importer and dealer of Aston Martin cars in Malaysia), said the brand is looking to expand into certain markets while wanting to work with suitable partners to support the product.

He added that there are currently 120 Aston Martin owners in Malaysia and it plans to sell 14 cars a year here.

Aston Martin is also looking into tying up with lifestyle brands or high-end properties in the future, while relying on word-of-mouth in getting people to know about its Malaysian expansion.

Aston Martin currently has a strong following on its global Facebook page, with over 1.7 million fans, with plans to start a Malaysian page sometime this year.
