Asia City secures sponsors for tablet launch

Hong Kong - Asia City Media Group is set to launch HK Magazine on tablets next month with Miramar Group as lead sponsor.

The Hong Kong launch follows the group's city-living tablet app launches in Singapore and Thailand in September.

The app will feature rich media content such as movie trailers in the magazine's film reviews, slide shows in restaurant reviews and travel stories, as well as music, animation and web services.

Greg Crandall, country manager of Asia City Media Group, said the new platform is a platform for readers to "watch, listen, explore, connect and share".

"This platform is not a replacement for our print reach. It is an additional platform for the digital savvy reader and is created to broaden and expand our readership and our reader engagement," he said.

Kevin Ng, Miramar Group's senior marketing manager, added the partnership with HK Magazine will allow the brand to reach consumer audience who leads a chic lifestyle.

Other launch sponsors include vodka brand Belvedere, Cotai Strip Resorts in Macau, and UK-based online linen retailer Sleep Naked.

The tablet app will be available for free as a weekly download from the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores.
