The 11th edition of A+M’s Agency of the Year Awards took place at Connexion Conference & Event Centre on 25 September 2020. Along with the MARKies awards, the night celebrated the most effective, innovative and creative of all campaigns that were judged by an esteemed panel of senior, client-side marketers. A+M’s Agency of the Year Awards offers the agencies an incredible opportunity to impress the jury with their exceptional products and campaigns, business performance and perspectives.
There was stiff competition for the Agency of the Year awards segments this year, despite the challenging climate. The awards saw 114 agencies competing for the Agency of the Year title and 308 submissions for the MARKies alone. In the end, Entropia swept seven gold and three silver trophies, crowned the Overall Agency of the Year in front of a crowd of over 370 marketing and agency professionals. Coming in second place was Kingdom Digital Solutions which walked away with two gold, four silver and two bronze awards. FCB Malaysia came in third place bagged two gold, one silver and four bronze awards.
M&C Saatchi brought home the Overall Most Creative MARKie title with three gold, three silver and one bronze awards for its partnership with Axiata Group & Celcom Axiata and CIMB across Most Creative – Content, Most Creative – Digital, Most Creative – Experiential, Most Creative – Integrated Media and Most Creative – TV / Video Advertising categories.
Noir by Entropia put in a strong performance and came in second place with two gold and one silver awards which was done in partnership with Etika Beverages. MediaCliQ who came in third place bagged two gold awards for its partnership with Reckitt Benckiser.
Noir by Entropia named the Overall Media Usage MARKie with three gold, one silver and one bronze trophies for three of its campaign in partnership with Etika Beverages across three campaigns “Wonda 3In1 Brings You A Symphony of Coffee Experience”, “Wonda Brings Maximum Relaxation With Satisfying, Zero-Sugar Coffee” and “WONDA 3in1: The HOT New Arrival”. It was a close fight for Sambal Lab who bagged two gold and two silver awards with its partnership with Heineken Malaysia and Moet Hennessy Diageo. Ampersand Advisory and ADA Asia Malaysia came in a joint third place. Ampersand Advisory took home two gold awards for its campaign in partnership with Alliance Bank while ADA Asia Malaysia won one gold, one silver and two bronze awards for its partnership with Axiata Digital Ecode (Boost).
Other notable agency winners APAC Venture, ensemble worldwide, a Division of IPG Mediabrands, InvictusBlue Group, Sumo Eleven, The Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company and Zeno Malaysia also performed very well across the different categories.
