Amazon-owned live streaming video platform Twitch is on the hunt for an APAC managing director. In a job ad on LinkedIn, Twitch cited building and executing its vision, strategy, and day-to-day tactics in APAC as a key job scope.

According to Twitch, its APAC business is in "high growth mode". The appointed individual will lead business development and marketing efforts across APAC, ensuring that global product roll outs and marketing strategies are localised appropriately across the region. The MD will also be tasked to support Twitch’s chief revenue officer, Walker Jacobs, and advertising sales efforts by assisting in executing local sales activities and fostering relationships with advertising agencies and key brand partners.

In addition, the managing director will be tasked to operate across functional lines to identify and execute on new growth opportunities. Some of the other responsibilities include ensuring Twitch is well positioned within the APAC media or entertainment and gaming ecosystem, leading content acquisition, partner, and account management strategy in APAC. As part of leading cross-functional collaboration, the new MD will have to work closely with a variety of internal and external partners to exceed goals for shared business objectives in APAC.

Twitch was launched in 2011, and acquired by Amazon three years after. Just last week, Twitch introduced a beat-version of a subscriber-only streaming feature. The feature, however, is limited to those with active subscriptions and VIP status on Twitch's platforms.
