Allianz has hired Paul Groves as head of market management, Asia Pacific.
Groves, in this role, will drive the development of the insurer’s marketing function throughout Asia Pacific. Besides branding, he will focus particularly on designing innovative customer and product propositions, as well as building up effective commercial marketing capabilities.
He will be based in Singapore and reporting into chief distribution officer for Asia Pacific, Lars Heibutzki.
"Paul brings extensive marketing depth and experience to the team - his knowledge of insurance management and international marketing experience will be invaluable as we look to create innovative connections with our clients and customers, and grow our brand presence in Asia,” Heibutzki said.
Global financial services providers Allianz's core business includes life & health insurance, property & casualty insurance, as well as asset management.
The firm serves more than 85 million customers in more than 70 countries. Asia is a major growth engine for the German group. Within the region, Allianz is headquartered in Singapore, and operates a multi-distribution insurance platform, with a particularly strong focus on digital innovation and customer service excellence.
Groves brings to this role more than 30 years of experience, with a strong track record in marketing and commercial development. He was previously based in Hong Kong as AIA’s Group chief marketing officer, and has also previously worked in MetLife, Barclays and GE Money.
