AlipayHK has promoted Chan Siu-yan to marketing director. Prior to taking on the role, Chan was senior marketing manager at AlipayHK from May 2020 to August 2021. He first joined the team in July 2018.

Chan (pictured) boasts marketing experience in other businesses in the city. He was assistant marketing and promotions manager at Swire Properties from September 2016 to July 2018. Prior to this position, he was online marketing manager at Microsoft, where he was responsible for planning, driving and executing digital campaigns with social media, website, SEO and SEM. He also managed advertising campaign operations with advertising agencies and collaborated with agencies and partners to implement digital projects.

Apart from marketing positions, Chan also worked in the media industry in the earlier stage of his career for Pixel Media Asia and MRRM Publishing.

AlipayHK has been strengthening its service offerings in the market to engage users and expand its footprint. For example, in June, AlipayHK and Sino Group joined forces to launch the “AlipayHK x Sino VouchersLand” campaign in Olympian City mall under the theme of "Endless Vouchers. Enjoyment Everywhere!”. The Vouchersland campaign featured six interactive zones covering diversified consumer experiences of lifestyle, catering, retail and other services.

The campaign integrated the mall’s interactive technology to introduce the public to AlipayHK’s consumer experiences. Spanning across 4,000 square feet in the atrium of Olympian City Phase II, the six zones enabled visitors to experience AlipayHK's consumer services while participating in a wide variety of interactive games to win rewards on top of consumption vouchers. Dedicated staff were stationed onsite to help users register online to receive the electronic consumption vouchers through AlipayHK.

Also, AlipayHK inked a partnership with HKTVmall to join the online shopping platform. Riding on the rollout of the government’s eVoucher scheme, AlipayHK said that it hoped to help stimulate Hong Kong’s economy, benefit customers and boost the development of mobile payment in Hong Kong. To celebrate its onboarding, AlipayHK will allow its users to redeem exclusive vouchers for HKTVmall which allows customers to enjoy a 10% discount.
