These hires aim to manage Smaato's expansion in APAC. Both Khan and Williams will be based in Smaato's Singapore office.
Taking over the role previously held by Malcolm Wong, Khan will look to boost Smaato’s APAC business across the region, with China, Australia and New Zealand as the main growth areas. Khan will report into Glenn Fishback, chief revenue officer, Smaato who is based in San Francisco. In his new role, Williams will be responsible for building agency and brand relationships within the region. Before joining Smaato, Williams was the head of exchange demand at Oath. He will support Khan on the demand side of his remit and report into him.
"I'm excited to lead the next phase in Smaato's regional expansion. Smaato's focus on in-app advertising is particularly well suited to the APAC market, which is experiencing explosive growth in demand from global brands," said Khan.
"We are honored that we were able to attract two digital marketing leaders to join and help us further expand into the APAC region. Over the last eight years, Smaato has created a great foundation in APAC. We are now uniquely positioned to build upon the successes with these key hires," Fishback said.
