Oath's Alex Khan takes on MD role at Smaato

Smaato, a real-time advertising platform for mobile publishers and app developers, has appointed Alex Khan (pictured) as managing director APAC, as well as Toby Williams for the role of senior director, demand business development APAC. These hires aim to manage Smaato's expansion in APAC. Both Khan and Williams will be based in Smaato's Singapore office.Taking over the role previously held by Malcolm Wong, Khan will look to boost Smaato’s APAC business across the region, with China, Australia and New Zealand as the main growth areas. Khan will report into Glenn Fishback, chief revenue officer, Smaato who is based in San Francisco. Prior to Smaato, he was managing director of platforms APAC for Oath, where he was responsible for its combined platforms and enterprise business in APAC.In his new role, Williams will be responsible for building agency and brand relationships within the region. Before joining Smaato, Williams was the head of exchange demand at Oath. He will support Khan on the demand side of his remit and report into him."I'm excited to lead the next phase in Smaato's regional expansion. Smaato's focus on in-app advertising is particularly well suited to the APAC market, which is experiencing explosive growth in demand from global brands," said Khan."We are honored that we were able to attract two digital marketing leaders to join and help us further expand into the APAC region.
