Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has appointed Sharon Cheong-Paduch as the group marketing head, Marketing confirms. It is a newly-created role. According to her LinkedIn profile, Cheong-Paduch brings with her more than 15 years of experience in sales and marketing. She was most recently at AirAsia, where she spent near to three years as the head of marketing and 10 months in a similar role at the group inflight division. Marketing has reached out to her for more information. Previously, she had also spent over two years as the head of marketing for South and Southeast Asia (SEA) at Tigerair, prior to its merger with Scoot. On the sales front, she held roles as the regional sales director for SEA at office solution provider Servcorp for near to two years, and the senior sales director for MediaCorp for eight years. This comes on the back of SPH subsidiary Chinese Media Group launching a Chinese crosstalk production to commemorate Singapore’s Bicentennial year. The show aims to enable audiences to acquire better understandings about Singapore’s history and the close ties between Singapore and Malaysia. In March, SPH launched a news tablet app to push digital adoption of Chinese language papers. Readers will be able to access the e-paper editions of Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News seamlessly on the app without needing to login or getting disrupted by auto-updates.
