AirAsia's eCommerce marketplace brings Guardian on board for pre-purchase service

AirAsia’s e-marketplace, OURSHOP has partnered health and beauty retailer Guardian to provide pre-purchase and collect services at klia2. As part of the partnership, AirAsia BIG members can also earn and redeem their BIG Points when shopping for Guardian products on OURSHOP. There are also special offers across product ranges and bonus point incentives to help bring travellers closer to redeeming free flights on airasia.com.According to a press release, the new partnership stands to provide "significant growth opportunities" for Guardian’s business, with close to 32 million people choosing to arrive and depart klia2 per year. Discussions are currently ongoing to extend the partnership beyond just the airport space.OURSHOP head of acquisition Hassan Choudhury said the launch of a new retail category that allows customers to pre-purchase and collect at klia2 gives them the "freedom to explore" its omni-channel experience and product selection.Meanwhile, Guardian health and beauty Southeast Asia CEO Soren Lauridsen said the company is the first health and beauty retailer to partner with OURSHOP. It seeks to provide a convenient channel to meet the changing demands of customers in the travel retail business through the partnership. "We have noticed a new and growing trend, whereby travellers are moving away from impulse purchasing at the airport to researching and shopping online for essential travel items," he added.
