AirAsia’s 1Malaysia campaign takes flight

AirAsia’s display of patriotism in the form of the ‘1Malaysia Integration Programme with AirAsia’ has taken off, with overwhelming response from the nation.

Under the programme, AirAsia offered 10,000 free seats for flights between three destinations in peninsular Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru) and eight destinations in Sabah and Sarawak (Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Bintulu, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Labuan, Sandakan), with a total of 417 weekly flights between peninsula and East Malaysia.

All 10,000 free seats were snapped up within 11 hours of the launch yesterday.

“When AirAsia was started, the aim was to tighten the bonds that make us all one nation, one people. it was our mission to help in the process of national integration,” said Aireen Omar, chief executive officer of AirAsia.

The 10,000 free seats offered was the first of many other activities that AirAsia will unveil as part of the ‘1Malaysia Integration Programme launched by the Prime Minister Dato Sri Najib Tun Razak last Saturday.

A special 1Malaysia aircraft livery was also launched, in commemoration of the ‘1Malaysia Integration Programme with AirAsia’.
