AirAsia Philippines is fuelling a surge in domestic travel this January as Filipinos head to Cebu, Iloilo, and Kalibo for the country’s most vibrant festivals, including Sinulog, Dinagyang, and Ati-atihan.
To capture the seasonal travel demand, the low-cost carrier has launched the AirAsia Fiesta Sale, offering one-way base fares from as low as 115 pesos (US$1.95) to select domestic destinations. The promotion runs until 25 January 2026, with travel valid from 12 January to 30 November 2026, allowing travellers to plan both festival trips and future journeys well beyond the first quarter.
“AirAsia Philippines is proud to support the growth of domestic tourism, especially during the country’s iconic fiestas. These events not only showcase our rich culture but also stimulate local economies and create unforgettable experiences for our guests and we are glad to be part of making those moments truly memorable,” said AirAsia Philippines president and CEO Capt. Suresh Bangah.

Cebu remains a key growth market for the airline. AirAsia Philippines is strengthening connectivity to the province with the launch of two new international routes and three additional domestic routes, supporting the Cebu provincial government’s Balik Cebu programme, which aims to boost visitor arrivals. The department of tourism region 7 has projected tourist arrivals in Cebu to reach 400,000 this January.
Beyond expanding routes, AirAsia Philippines is marking the Sinulog celebrations with a large-scale community event. The airline will host the “To the Philippines with love” concert for a cause on 16 January at the SM Seaside Cebu Concert Grounds. The free-admission concert will feature local acts Rob Deniel, Earl Agustin, Parokya ni Edgar, and Spongecola.
During the event, AirAsia Philippines will also share updates on its relief efforts for communities in Cebu affected by recent calamities. Since November 2025, the airline has been allocating 15 pesos (US$0.25) from every flight booked to typhoon and earthquake relief initiatives in the province, with the total donation set to be revealed at the concert.
In Iloilo, AirAsia Philippines is extending the celebrations with its second AirAsia Fiesta Concert, timed with the Dinagyang Festival. The free concert will take place on 24 January along SM Delgado Street in downtown Iloilo, featuring performances by OPM artists Maki and Darren Espanto. Guests travelling with an AirAsia boarding pass will receive exclusive VIP access to the event.
To further mark the Dinagyang Festival, AirAsia is offering special fares, exclusive of fees and surcharges, when bookings are made via AirAsia MOVE. The booking period runs until 25 January 2026, with travel valid until 30 November 2026.
AirAsia Philippines currently operates 15 weekly flights to Iloilo, improving access to one of the country’s most anticipated cultural events.
The airline said its festival push aligns with its broader commitment to affordable and predictable travel. This comes alongside the Civil Aeronautics Board’s announcement that fuel surcharges will remain steady at Level 4.
“2025 was a wonderful year for travellers, and AirAsia Philippines is committed to making sure travel in 2026 remains accessible. Events like the Dinagyang Festival keep Filipino culture and tradition alive, and play an important part in reconnecting families to their homes. At AirAsia, we are committed to providing accessible travel so everyone can experience this colourful festival,” Bangah said.
Further strengthening its presence in Iloilo, AirAsia Philippines will also partner with the Dinagyang Ultramarathon 2026 on 23 January, providing flights, merchandise, and integrated promotions as part of its push to support both cultural and sports tourism.
AirAsia operates across five ASEAN markets - Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia - and has flown more than 800 million guests since its founding in 2001. The group continues to expand its regional network while pursuing sustainability initiatives, including a net zero target by 2050.
