AIA Group has launched its AIA One Billion movement, aiming to engage a billion people to live healthier, longer, and better lives by 2030. Alongside this movement is a regional social media campaign that was rolled out to invite consumers to "Join the Journey". AIA Malaysia's ambassadors across the region such as Nicol David also supported the initiatives, rallying communities to take action and drive broad positive behavioural change.

Through partnerships, events, community programmes, and campaigns, the AIA One Billion movement will encompass interactions across its communities, encouraging everyone from walks of life to lead a healthier lifestyle. AIA's group chief CMO, Stuart A. Spencer explained that the programme's launch extends the company's purpose of helping people that were far beyond its immediate customer base.

"AIA One Billion underscores AIA’s commitment to engage, educate and inspire communities across Asia to improve physical, mental and environmental wellness while championing financial inclusion," he added.

This movement came after the World Heald Organisation (WHO) warned about the morbidity and mortality issues associated with climate change. Furthermore, the dangers from the pandemic have also increased people's awareness of the importance of health. With this movement, AIA Malaysia aimed to improve the health and wellness of individuals, creating a more sustainable future in Asia.

"The past two years have truly changed how we view our health and wellness," said AIA Malaysia's CEO, Ben Ng. Ng added that there has never been a crucial time than now where its purpose of empowering a better quality of life can make an impact.

"We are deeply committed to doing our part in touching one billion lives in the next eight years and continuing to make significant strides in helping fellow Malaysians achieve their health and wealth aspirations," explained Ng.

AIA Group's commitment to sustainability has been growing to be one of its top priorities. In December last year, the insurer announced its plans to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. According to the insurer, its commitment to net-zero by 2050 supports the delivery of long-term sustainable value for customers, shareholders and communities.

"AIA is wholly focused on Asia and, driven by our purpose of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives, we have a responsibility to help address climate change and contribute to sustainable and healthier development for Asia," said Lee Yuan Siong, AIA Group's chief executive and president.
