MARKETING-INTERACTIVE is thrilled to present the esteemed lineup of finalists for the highly anticipated Agency of the Year and MARKies Awards 2024. Geared up for the 16th edition of this prestigious event, the shortlist is filled with exceptional, forward-looking, and impactful campaigns, showcasing the exceptional talent of Malaysia's premier agencies.

Across 32 categories for the Agency of the Year Awards and 45 for the MARKies, four exciting new categories were introduced including ‘Most Creative Gamification Campaign’, ‘Most Creative Immersive Brand Activation’, ‘Most Creative Social Commerce’, and ‘Most Effective Social Commerce’.

Similar to previous years, the top five performing agencies in the Agency of the Year Awards will advance as finalists for the coveted Overall Agency of the Year accolade. Furthermore, for the MARKies Awards, outstanding agencies in both the Creative Ideas and Media Usage categories will vie for the prestigious Overall Creative Ideas MARKie and Overall Media Usage MARKie titles respectively.

The ultimate winner will be determined by an impartial panel of 30 seasoned marketing professionals from Malaysia, ensuring fairness and excellence in judgment.

Having assessed the entries, Datin Sri Linda Chen, marketing and communications director of Bonia & Braun Büffel said that the foundation of exceptional campaign entries lies in meticulous preparation and strategic planning by agencies and clients.

"Successful campaigns are driven by a clear direction, profound market insights, and genuine creativity, demonstrating their ability to achieve even the most ambitious objectives,” she said. 

“I was genuinely excited by how agencies now marry technology and organisational principles in innovative formats to address business challenges,” added Naveen Thomas, head of digital, Edmark Group of Companies. “It’s a challenging landscape, but it’s clear it’s in very capable hands.”

Izra Izzuddin, chief marketing officer, HELP Tertiary of HELP Education Group explained that the entries and masterpieces are not only creative and "mind blowing", but left a far-reaching impact, not limited to the clients’ brands, but also the community.

He added that whether the entrants received an award or not, they have definitely won the hearts of Malaysians and contributed to the industry and economy.

Additionally, Evelyn Lee, head of marketing, Secret Recipe Cakes & Café Group praised the submissions for having grown in sophistication and complexity. "It is amazing to read and see, but perhaps the most challenging of all is trying to choose the best one,” she said. 

The winners of the 16th Annual Agency of the Year and MARKies Awards will be announced at a live gala dinner and celebration on the 21st of June 2024 at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton KL.
