K-pop girl group aespa named the new face of Givenchy

K-pop girl group aespa may be a relative newcomer on the global music scene, but it's a name that you'd better get familiar with yesterday. After setting new K-pop records in November with their debut single Black Mamba, the group has taken the next all-important step on the road to global superstardom: the luxury fashion brand co-sign.

Together as aespa, Karina, Giselle, Winter and Ningning have joined forces with the Parisian luxury house Givenchy, and will be the face of the brand for its collections and major lines in 2021. It's the first time a K-pop group has been selected to be the global ambassador of Hubert de Givenchy's iconic brand, now helmed by creative director Matthew M. Williams.

Unique in way it presents itself, aespa will be the ambassador as a singular entity, rather than the four individual members.

"When I first saw aespa, I was overwhelmed by the energy each member had. As a group, I felt that the firm personality and style of each member of Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning naturally connected with Givenchy's sensitivity. The fashion of aespa means their own color," said Williams.

"We are delighted to be with Matthew, the new creative director at Givenchy. As I joined the new Givenchy chapter, I will try to show a variety of appearances and activities," said aespa, speaking collectively.
