Advocacy opens its doors in India

Word of mouth agency Advocacy has launched its India operation with Srikanth Sarathy as COO. The agency has also set its sights on Singapore next.

Sarathy brings with him over 18 years of experience. He has worked in agencies such as Leo Burnett in both India and London and across brands such as Disney Channel, Ariel, Tide, Whisper, McDonalds, Thums Up, Philips, Johnnie Walker, HDFC Life and Tata Salt. He also worked at Walt Disney India.

Asit Gupta, CEO and co-founder of Advocacy said: “Our proven engagement platform TAP which combines technology with psychology is gaining traction as clients focus on deeper engagement after amassing enough fans and likes. Studies in US have shown that one active advocate has almost the same reach as 2500 fans, and so the focus should be on deeper engagement to create advocates and not shallow reach to get clicks and likes.”

Sarathy added, “I was genuinely impressed by the structured word of mouth model Advocacy has built and proven in such a short period of time. I sum it up as - created by marketers, grounded in psychology, driven by technology. It is exciting to lead the charge in India for deep social marketing beyond fans and opinion leaders.”

Advocacy’s Word of Mouth (WOM) creation model is grounded in behavioral science and psychology. It drives deep engagement with consumers, employees, retail staff to turn them into active advocates, using its proprietary gamified platform, TAP-The Advocacy Platform.
