Adidas has extended its sponsorship of Real Madrid by another eight years until June 2028, with the aim of remaining at the helm of football. A+M has reached out to adidas on the monetary value of the sponsorship.CEO of adidas, Kasper Rorsted, said it is “thrilled” to be able to continue its collaboration for years to come. “This deal will help us complete our mission of being one of the best companies in world sport and make sure adidas is a leader in football. We are proud to provide the kit for Real Madrid and serve all of the club’s fans around the world with innovative products and style,” he added.Meanwhile, Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid’s club president said Real Madrid and adidas are two of the “most iconic brands” in the sporting world and it is a natural step to extend the partnership until 2028.“Adidas is an ideal sponsor for us. Adidas provides the best equipment for our performance on and off the pitch and they have fantastic original products for our fans around the world. We know that together, we will continue to have years of success to come,” he added.Besides Real Madrid, adidas is also sponsoring Manchester United, AC Milan, Chelsea FC and FC Bayern Munich. It is also the partner for FIFA, UEFA, national federations such as Japan, Germany, Spain and Argentina, as well as Major League Soccer in the US. Last month, it went head to head with Nike to sponsor Liverpool but multiple media reports stated that Nike eventually came out on top and is “in advanced talks” with Liverpool.
