Robinsons Land Corporation sees leadership change with new CEO

Philippines-based real estate developer Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) is naming Maria Socorro Isabelle 'Mybelle' Aragon-GoBio its first female president and CEO.

Effective February 1, Aragon-GoBio will replace Lance Y. Gokongwei, who is stepping down from the president and CEO seat while remaining as RLC's chairman. Gokongwei was sworn in early last year to succeed Frederick D. Go.

Aragon-GoBio (pictured) brought over 30 years of experience in real estate. She was previously the senior vice president and business unit general manager of Robinsons Destination Estates and the Robinsons Logistics division. She has held leadership roles in logistics, residential, and office developments at RLC since joining the company in 1993.

She is also currently serving as the director of Luzon International Premier Airport Development Corporation and Altus Property Ventures.

With the appointment, "we are poised to embark on a new era of transformative growth and innovation. Her commitment to synergy, customer-centricity, and operational excellence will undoubtedly strengthen RLC's leadership in the real estate industry and deliver even greater value to our stakeholders," RLC said in a statement.

The company added that Aragon-GoBio was instrumental in establishing RLC's high-rise buildings division earlier in her career, contributing significantly to the company's revenue through residential and office developments that capitalised on the expansion of the business process outsourcing sector.

She has played a key role in launching successful residential brands, securing major joint ventures with both local and international partners, and advancing public-private partnerships with government bodies. Meanwhile, Robina Gokongwei-Pe, Gokongwei's sister, will also step down as director, effective February 1, following the appointment of Aragon-GoBio.
