For 50 years, MIMS Philippines has worked to fulfil its mission of providing local healthcare workers with continuing education, essential updates, and useful information: all with the goal of empowering healthcare workers and allowing them to provide the highest quality of care for patients.
Over the decades, many healthcare workers have relied on MIMS’ drug listings as a valuable source of information for familiarising themselves with the wide range of available medications for different conditions, and to help them fine-tune their prescriptions and medication decisions. Because of this, MIMS publications have become an invaluable partner for local healthcare institutions, and a common sight in hospitals, clinics, and doctor’s offices.

However, while these drug listings may have been where MIMS began, and the first exposure to the company for many healthcare professionals, MIMS Philippines has greatly expanded its services to help bring healthcare and health education into the digital age.
The MIMS website is central to the company’s digital efforts, helping healthcare professionals stay consistently connected with MIMS, and the information it can provide.
The website has a range of features, including expertly written articles on the latest medical and research updates for a variety of specialisations, and special reports on some of the most interesting and important topics in medicine today.

The website also offers its users continuing medical education (CME) opportunities through MEDU, MIMS’ new CME platform for physicians and allied healthcare professionals, which was created with the goal of empowering healthcare professionals so they can perform to the very best of their abilities.
MEDU’s CME modules are written and reviewed by experts and cover a range of specialties. The platform includes original MIMS modules, as well as modules created in partnership with industry partners to give users the widest possible range of topics.

Despite fully committing to a digital transformation, MIMS has also stayed true to its roots. Now, the MIMS website is also home to the company’s ever-popular drug listings. These listings allow for faster and more frequent updates, and help users find the information they need quickly.
MIMS also continues to keep its portfolio of print publications strong. Aside from the MIMS Drug Reference – which is still printed and distributed twice a year – MIMS also publishes magazines such as MIMS Doctor and MIMS Oncology, as well as MIMS Specialty Editions which includes disease management guidelines and treatment options for a variety of specialisations.
HealthToday, one of MIMS’ most popular publications, has also recently made the leap to digital with a recently launched website, which will feature articles on health, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle written and reviewed by experts for the general public.

MIMS Philippines also helps physicians connect directly with the foremost experts in their fields, as well as their peers, by arranging webinars and events in partnership with some of the country’s top pharmaceutical companies, as well as major national medical societies.
At the onset of the pandemic, MIMS shifted its attention to high-quality webinars with speakers from all over the world to allow physicians to continue learning despite quarantine measures. And, as lockdowns eased, the company has started to return to face-to-face events.

In 2022 alone, MIMS Philippines was pivotal in the planning and execution of major online and in-person events such as the 59th Philippine Pediatric Society Annual Convention; the 66th Philippine Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Annual Convention; and the second Asia Pacific Laryngology Association Congress.
Through these events, local doctors are able to hear directly from well-regarded speakers and experts from the Philippines, as well as around the world. They are also important venues for physicians to network, bond, share ideas, and learn together.
Pharmaceutical companies are also essential to the national healthcare industry, so MIMS Philippines offers medical communications services, allowing physicians and other healthcare workers to connect with these companies.
Through detailers, emailers, microsites, advisory boards, and a whole host of customised projects – executed by the company’s in-house team of medical writers, designers, project managers, and more – healthcare professionals can learn about the newest products and latest services from major pharmaceutical companies that will help bring their practices to the next level.
Between the company’s shift to digital efforts and adaptations that were made during the pandemic, the past few years have signalled major changes for MIMS Philippines. But despite this, the company remains committed to its mission of improving healthcare for all patients by empowering and educating healthcare professionals, and this will be the company’s guiding light for the next 50 years, and beyond.
