The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has 10 agencies vying for its social media account, including ADNA, Construct Digital, E3 Sports, Formul8, Hashmeta, iClick Media, MediaPlus Digital, Ninemer Communications, Vintedge and Wild Advertising and Marketing. The tender was first published on Gebiz early last month and the appointment is for for 12 months with the option to extend for another year.
According to a Gebiz tender previously seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE, the job scope includes strategic social media consultancy services, content development and production, and social media influencer and content publisher engagement. Currently, LTA has about 363,000 followers on Facebook, 319,190 on Twitter, and 49,042 on Instagram. It also has about 13,100 and 21,900 subscribers on its YouTube and Telegram channels respectively.
The appointed agency is expected to monitor and review the performance of content on LTA's social media campaigns; plan, develop, and implement a social media engagement strategy; identify key social media trends; and archive all social media posts created by the agency. At the same time, the appointed agency will also be tasked with conceptualising and producing creative, relevant, and engaging multimedia content to be published across all social media platforms; and conceptualise, implement, and manage engaging and exciting contests.
The appointed agency will also be expected to develop and manage a social media influencer and online content publisher engagement programme. This includes researching, shortlisting, and proposing suitable partners to convey LTA's intended messages.
Separately, LTA has committed to having a 100% cleaner energy bus fleet by 2040. To that end, it has already purchased and deployed 60 electric buses to better understand the operational and technical considerations of a larger-scale rollout. LTA said in a statement that bus buys from now until 2030 will primarily be electric, by which half of its public bus fleet will be electric buses. LTA will also plans to replace over 400 diesel buses by 2025.
In the community, LTA will deploy at least charging points in all HDB carparks in a bid to drive the adoption of electric vehicles. LTA will take the lead to progressively upgrade the required electrical infrastructure in all residential estates, to ensure there is sufficient electrical capacity to support EV charging. The upgrades will be financed by LTA through the issuance of green bonds, and the costs will be recovered from EV charging operators and EV users over the longer term.
