i-CABLE Communications and HOY Media have confirmed VS Media's founder Ivy Wong as CEO.
The Hong Kong media industry veteran officially joined on 29 January, but has served as an executive director of the company since September 2025. She is also a member of the nomination committee.
Reflecting on her first 100 days in office, Wong addressed industry scepticism surrounding her transition from digital native to legacy broadcast.
Writing on LinkedIn, she said peers had frequently asked why, after years spent building digital platforms, she would step back into legacy media.
Wong said the decision was clear. The divide no longer exists.
"Audiences today don’t watch 'TV' and they don't watch 'Digital' - they just watch great stories," Wong said. "They crave the premium production value and trust of traditional broadcasting, but they demand the agility, interactivity, and community of the digital world."
Looking ahead, Wong outlined her vision to transform i-CABLE and HOY Media from a traditional broadcaster into a modern, omnichannel ecosystem. "We are building the ultimate media bridge," she stated.
Wong has more than 25 years experience in the media, content and entertainment industry, spanning global coverage of online and offline media and social media networks.
She has served as founder, chief executive and chairman of VS Media since 2013, a digital media and social commerce company that manages a network of leading digital creators, with Asia-Pacific as its base for global expansion.
VS Media is indirectly wholly owned by VS MEDIA Holdings, which has been listed on the Nasdaq since 2022.
Wong resigned as the chief executive officer and chairperson of the board of directors of VS MEDIA Holdings in March 2026, but will stay on as a director of VS MEDIA Holdings until June 2026.
Prior to launching VS Media, Wong was the founder and chief executive officer of Vissible Co & Limited, which founded the award-winning product VISS, a social media and commerce platform focused on fashion and lifestyle, which was later appreciated and acquired by investors. Wong joined HMV Entertainment (Hong Kong) in 2014, elevating the traditional music retail industry to a new media business model.
Wong has extensive experience in leading influential media brands in developing their digital presence beyond Asia to worldwide coverage. She served as chief executive officer of Next Mobile from 2011 to 2013, overseeing the company’s mobile and digital media strategy.
She was TVB.com's chief operating officer from 2007 to 2011, and developed TVB’s overall digital media business.
While at Yahoo! from 1999 to 2007, she was promoted to senior director of global sales, responsible for sales development in the Asia Pacific region for the global network.
Wong succeeds Felix To Chi Hak who stepped down as CEO and executive director. Aged 59, To is a media executive with over 30 years of experience in television, publication and radio industry in mainland China and Hong Kong.
He has served controller and management roles covering a wide range of media functions from programming and acquisition, production management of documentary, variety and drama projects, to sales and marketing for over a quarter-century, according to the release.
