Multinational consumer goods giant Unilever has promoted Kristy Nelwan (pictured) to chair of ED&I board of Indonesia. Her previous position at Unilever was head of communications, Indonesia, and she was in that position for three years. This was seen by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE on her LinkedIn profile.
Prior to Unilever, Nelwan was the vice president and head of corporate communications at ride-hailing company Gojek. She was there for almost two years.

Nelwan was also head of corporate communications at Coca-Cola Amatil for almost four years. She was responsible for external-internal communication, issue management, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy in all CCAI’s operation across Indonesia. Meanwhile she also worked as external corporate communications manager for insurance company Prudential Indonesia for over a year. Nelwan was responsible for content in all collateral for external publication, including customer newsletter and annual report. She also worked for PR and communications firm Edelman as a consultant for almost three years.

From a leadership front, Unilever shifted Javed Jafri to a South Asia based remit of media, digital and data lead for the Pakistan market. He will be part of South Asia media and digital team under the leadership of Tejas Apte GM Media South Asia in Unilever.
Jafri was last based in Malaysia and took on the role of Unilever’s lead for Southeast Asia and Indonesia ice cream digital, data and commerce hub.
