Uber Eats and Petbarn go full fetch: Delivery dog drives home new brand stunt by Hello

Uber Eats has teamed up with Petbarn for a tail-wagging brand stunt that’s turned heads across Australia - enlisting a trained dog to “drive” a delivery car as part of a bold campaign created by Hello, the newly relaunched agency born out of Hello Social.

To mark Petbarn’s arrival on the platform, the campaign put Uber Eats’ “Get Almost, Almost Anything” promise into overdrive with Bodhi, a professionally trained pooch, delivering pet essentials in a customised vehicle designed to let him take the wheel - literally.

The made-for-media moment landed with bite, generating national headlines, social traction, and influencer buzz, including a personal drop-off to Dr Chris Brown. A hero film showcasing the canine courier was pushed across Uber Eats and Petbarn’s owned channels, while Instagram clips gave fans a close-up view of the delivery that got tongues (and tails) wagging.

“This wasn’t just about launching a new retail partner, it was about owning the conversation,” said Lucas Groeneveld, regional GM retail, Uber Eats ANZ. “Petbarn on Uber Eats is a real game-changer for Aussie pet parents, and we knew the best way to tell that story was to make people feel something first. The campaign delivered on that, in spades.”

The earned-led campaign was handled entirely in-house by Hello, with creative, PR, influencer, media and strategy teams unified from the outset.

“I bloody love this work,” said Hello creative director Dave Varney. “This hairbrain idea to create the world’s first delivery dog driver on Uber Eats just never died. Then some super smart people, and a dog, made it actually happen.”

Petbarn joins the growing roster of retail categories available through Uber Eats, as the company continues to evolve its platform beyond food and into everyday convenience.
