Tickets for mainland Olympians show sell out within 1 hour

All 5,300 tickets for the mainland Olympians delegation gala show and sports demonstration were snapped up within an hour last Thursday.
According to The Standard, nearly 50,000 netizens were in a queue to purchase tickets for the badminton, gymnastics and table tennis showcase at Queen Elizabeth Stadium in Wan Chai, while over 41,000 individuals were waiting to get hold of the tickets for the diving and swimming displays to be held at Victoria Park Swimming Pool.
The Mainland Olympians gala show will be held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on 30 August from 8pm to 9.30pm.
The athletes of a delegation visiting Hong Kong from 29 to 31 August includes 65 athletes and eight coaches from 16 sports events, including Chinese race walker Chinese race walker Yang Jiayu and China's badminton pair of Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan who won an Olympic gold in Paris.
Director of the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) Gao Zhidan will head the delegation and GASC deputy director Zhou Jinqiang will act as the deputy head.
During the three-day programme, the delegation will attend a welcome reception and banquet hosted by the Hong Kong government and hold exchanges with Hong Kong athletes at the Hong Kong Sports Institute.
The athletes of the delegation will then meet the public and attend the Sports Demonstrations by Mainland Olympians from 9.30am to 11.30am on 31 August. Two groups of athletes will conduct badminton, gymnastics and table tennis demonstrations at Queen Elizabeth Stadium, as well as diving and swimming demonstrations at Victoria Park Swimming Pool.
For the tickets which were priced at HK$20 each, real-name registration is required for ticket purchases. Each ticket holder must present proof of identity with a photo that matches the name on the ticket for verification upon entry; failure to do so will result in denied admission and no refunds.
Ticket holders may not make unauthorised amendments to the information as printed on the ticket or transfer the ticket for another's use. Broadcasting arrangements will also be made for the events so that members of the public can enjoy them at home.
