These brands wasted no time celebrating Spain's World Cup win

It took just one goal for Spain to lift the World Cup trophy, but it didn't take long for brands to turn the moment into marketing.

As celebrations erupted following Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina, brands across industries raced to social media with timely posts, witty references and football-inspired creative, proving once again that no major sporting moment is complete without a little trendjacking.

Here's a look at the brands that joined the conversation after the World Cup final.

1. Coca-Cola Malaysia

Coca-Cola Malaysia kept things simple but effective, congratulating Spain with a celebratory visual featuring its Spain-themed Coca-Cola can alongside the shadow of the FIFA World Cup trophy. Paired with the caption, "A new era begins. The student takes the crown," the post nodded to Spain's triumph while subtly weaving the brand into football's biggest moment.

2. Google

Google gave its iconic search page a championship makeover, swapping its usual logo for a Spain-themed stitched design. The accompanying caption, “Spain shot for the stars and brought one home,” celebrated La Roja’s victory while nodding to the team’s second World Cup title.

3. KitKat

KitKat played on the final’s nail-biting tension with an image of a half-eaten chocolate bar carrying the words, “Finger biting stuff.” Its caption, “Who else needs a break after that?”, neatly tied the drama of the match back to the brand’s long-running tagline.

4. Lay's

Lay's celebrated Spain's triumph by unveiling a special red packet of its FIFA World Cup 2026 champions official fantasy flavour. Accompanied by the caption, "Sweet (and savory) victory," the post blended the excitement of lifting the trophy with the brand's signature foodie twist.

5. McDonald's Singapore

McDonald’s Singapore turned the tension of the final into a playful graph charting “nerves over time”, with the line stretching into one of its signature fries at the end. The simple visual captured the match’s anxious moments while placing the brand’s most recognisable menu item at the heart of the joke.

6. Old Spice

Old Spice gave its deodorant a Spain-inspired makeover in a reel carrying the line, “Red is the new gold.” With the caption, “Congrats Red Team, we always knew you’d win,” the brand turned Spain’s signature colour into a playful symbol of its championship triumph.

7. Ryanair

Ryanair leaned into its trademark cheekiness with a mascot-led video poking fun at Argentina’s defeat. Declaring that “VAR couldn’t help you this time”, the airline invited the team to “fly to Spain to learn how to play”, turning the final result into a characteristically savage travel plug.
