The Peninsula Hotels has appointed Feria Kazemi (pictured) as the director of communications, based at the global headquarters in Hong Kong.
Relocating from the UK, Kazemi will lead global campaigns to drive brand awareness through earned media, compelling content, and impactful brand partnerships in this global role.
She will also serve as a designated representative of the legendary, nearly 100-year-old hospitality brand. She will be reporting to Carson Glover, senior vice president, brand marketing and communications at The Peninsula Hotels, who previously held this position before transitioning to a broader leadership role.
As The Peninsula approaches its centennial milestone in a few years, Kazemi’s appointment brings a fresh and global perspective to its communications strategy, according to a spokesperson from The Peninsula Hotels.
Kazemi brings more than a dozen years of international communications expertise in both the travel and technology industries to the role. Most recently, she served as a reputation and industry relations manager for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, at Google in London, where she worked for nearly four years, according to her LinkedIn.
Prior to Google, Kazemi served as a senior communications manager for Tripadvisor and Viator, a Tripadvisor company. Originally from Canada, Kazemi began her career managing media relations for the government of Ontario. She subsequently moved on to Apple, where she handled communications for the company’s corporate office in Toronto.
The Peninsula Hotels works with a network of 11 PR agencies globally, including The Brandman Agency for North America, Mason Rose for the UK and German-speaking markets, PRCO for the Middle East, and the newly appointed Heavens Portfolio for India, according to the spokesperson.
“I am delighted to have joined the wonderful team at The Peninsula Hotels. It is an incredible privilege to be a part of a company with such a rich heritage and illustrious reputation for hospitality and service. I look forward to working with my colleagues to spotlight this excellence, and all the elements that make The Peninsula Hotels truly iconic,” said Kazemi.
Don’t miss: The Peninsula and V&A unveil contemporary art installations in HK
Back in January, The Peninsula Hong Kong partnered with London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) to launch a series of contemporary art installations in the city, supporting emerging and mid-career artists.
This is part of the expansion of The Peninsula’s “Art in resonance” commission-based art programme, introduced in 2019 to highlight important emerging and mid-career artists by providing them with funding, curatorial support and logistical capabilities to produce significant new public artworks.
The multi-year collaboration, which brings together two iconic institutions known for their shared heritage and dedication to excellence, seeks to raise the bar for world-class art experiences in the luxury hotel space.
