Starcom China, part of Publicis Groupe China, has promoted Marc Leclerc (pictured) to chief client officer. Reporting to Jessica Zhang, Starcom China CEO, Leclerc will be taking the lead to oversee and manage a portfolio of client accounts.

Leclerc joined Publicis Groupe in 2011 and moved to Shanghai in 2015 to be part of the China team. Since then, he held pivotal roles including head of strategy and transformation and managing director of Starcom China.

During his tenure, he has leveraged his business acumen and cross-sector expertise to drive transformative results from developing end-to-end marketing capabilities in brand strategy, media planning, creative innovation to data-driven solutions.

In a dynamic business landscape, Leclerc leverages the strength of Starcom and Publicis Groupe’s ‘Power of one’ service model to drive customised solutions in media, creativity and data in creating business impact.

Leclerc and Tracy Ta, who serves as chief client officer at Starcom China, will lead different client accounts. Leclerc will focus on multinational corporate clients based in Shanghai while Ta is focused on multinational corporate and local clients in Beijing and Guangzhou.

They will work together to drive greater integration across teams to provide customised future-fit marketing solutions to help clients achieve their business goals.

Jessica Zhang, CEO of Starcom China, said, "At Starcom China, we place people at the heart of our business and provide them with growth opportunities. We challenge our teams to fuse strategic vision with integrated capabilities to propel clients towards sustainable growth.”

“Leclerc always places client needs at the centre of what he does, and they benefit from his deep industry expertise, collaborative leadership and innovative business models. I am confident that both Leclerc and Ta will further elevate our strategic partnerships with clients, empowering brands to achieve long-term success."

Leclerc added, "During my 10 years at Publicis Groupe China, I have witnessed the rapid development of the China market. Engaging Chinese consumers now requires a blending of media, social, creativity and technology and eliminating organisational silos at every level. I am fully committed to supporting our clients and our people and in shaping the future of marketing and business transformation in my new position."
