Spurwing Communications names new director

Spurwing Communications has appointed Georgina Purdy as its new director. In her new role, Purdy will work closely with Spurwing's senior team to shape the strategic direction of the business. 

Purdy brings a decade of global network agency and in-house communications experience across sectors including technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, energy and sustainability. 

Prior to joining Spurwing, Purdy was head of communications, international markets at Gojek for two years where she was responsible for setting the strategic direction for all communications efforts across Singapore and Vietnam.

Purdy previously held the role of associate director at Ogilvy Singapore where she was responsible for leading financial service clients AIA Singapore and the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA). She was also at Ogilvy UK where she served as account director, senior account manager and account manager over a span of three years. 

In her new role, Purdy will support Spurwing's client base and play a key role in expanding the Global Healthcare Marketing Communications network (GHMC) in the Asia Pacific region. Spurwing has been the APAC hub lead for GHMC since 2023.

Purdy's appointment comes as Spurwing Communications hits its tenth year of operations and expands its specialist offerings to its clients across healthcare, food and agriculture in 2024. 

In tandem to Purdy's appointment, Spurwing Communications also promoted Claudia Lee to the role of senior account manager. Prior to that she was an account manager and senior account executive.
